Delhi (airport) is at a distance of 320 KMs from Nainital and it takes around 8 hours to reach airport (considering a break of 40 minutes in between).
The highway is good from Moradabad till Pillkuwa where because of construction work there is usually a jam. This would hopefully be better by December 2020.
You can stop for a break in Gajrulla (many restaurants options) which takes around 4.5 hours from Nainital.
